Bernie Bellinger

Bernie was another star of the coupe era who adapted well to the modern era supermodifieds. All told, he collected 24 top 5's spanning both eras. With one win in 1959 and a 2nd place feature finish in 1962, it appeared as though he was well on his way to success going forward in the supermodified ranks. Family and job obligations, however, sent Bernie on a different career path. Although short, his racing career was impressive.
